Submitting a work or proposal

Webster University Press welcomes works or proposals that may fit our publishing program. Please email in PDF format to wup@webster.edu.

For proposals, please include

  • cover letter
  • project description
  • sample material (if applicable)
  • resume or curriculum vitae

For works, please include

  • cover letter
  • table of contents (if applicable)
  • introductory material
  • sample chapters (if applicable)
  • resume or curriculum vitae

Selection guidelines

The following criteria will be considered in reviewing proposals or works for publication by WUP. Please address any that are appropriate to your proposal or work in your cover letter.

  • Significance of subject and how it supports University's academic mission
  • Standards of scholarship
  • Marketability and financial terms of co-publisher
  • Competence of research
  • Organization of materials
  • Quality of writing
  • Peer review input

WUP does not publish the following

  • Proceedings
  • Theses or dissertations (Webster University theses and dissertations are published by ProQuest Information and Learning, Inc.)

Acceptance of works for publication

Final acceptance contingent upon unanimous vote of Editorial Board.

Authors whose works are accepted for publication will sign an author agreement with WUP.

As a cost-recovery publishing arm of the University, royalties will be paid by Webster University Press to the author only when all financial outlay costs have been recouped.
