Videos on Kanopy can be accessed by logging in with your Webster Connections information.
You can browse for videos by topic or search for a specific video.
When you click on a video, you can also read the synopsis and production information, watch a trailer, see if it has public performance rights (indicated by a PPR logo next to the title), and view a list of related films.
Some videos will also have supplemental materials.
Kanopy has a streaming app available on some smart TVs and an app for Apple and Android devices.
Search for and download the Kanopy app onto your TV.
On a computer (or the mobile app) log in to Kanopy with your Connections information, then log in to your personal Kanopy account.
You will have to create a personal account if you do not already have one.
On the computer, click on your profile icon in the top right corner and click "Link Device"
On the TV, select "Log in". The TV will display a code which you will then enter into Kanopy on the browser/mobile app.
Download the Kanopy app from the related app store.
Tap "Get Started", then "Find University".
Search for your university or college and select it from the results. You'll be redirected to your school’s login screen. Follow the prompts to log in.
Create your Kanopy account if you do not have one already.
After creating your account, you’ll receive a verification email. Click the link in the email to verify your email address.
The iOS app also allows for Airplay on Apple TVs. Just press the Airplay icon on a video when you are watching it on the app to cast it.
Kanopy also allows for Chromecast on devices that support it. On mobile, select the cast button from the Kanopy app, then cast to the connected device.
From a Chrome browser, while watching a video on Kanopy, select Cast from the Chrome menu and choose a connected device.
You will need to make a separate personal Kanopy account in order to use Kanopy on the mobile app or smart TV apps.
A Kanopy personal account also allows you to create playlists, a watchlist, and to pick up where you left off in videos you have watched with the "Continue Watching" tab.
