Students should work with a faculty or staff member in order to get access to Qualtrics. When the faculty/staff member is ready to request access, follow these steps:
1. Attempt to log in to Qualtrics. It will not work, but you must accept the terms before you can be granted access.
2. The faculty/staff member should request access for you following the instructions in this guide under Faculty/Staff - Access: https://library.webster.edu/qualtrics/facultystaff
3. You will receive notification when you have been granted access. Navigate to Qualtrics through Connections, then verify that you now can make a new project. If you still do not have access, contact the Faculty Development Center.
Qualtrics must be accessed through Connections, not through qualtrics.com.
Sign in to Connections, then use the QuickLaunch menu to select Qualtrics Survey Tool:
Alternatively, under the Students page in Connections, scroll to the bottom and select Qualtrics Survey Tool under Technology:
To use Qualtrics for research, be sure to follow the instructions in the email you receive granting access, including obtaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval prior to conducting your survey.
The University’s IRB policy and procedures can be found here: Institutional Review Board - Home (in Connections)
You can find the IRB Training program (required for both students and faculty) here: https://websteru.sharepoint.com/sites/InstitutionalReviewBoard/SitePages/Training-Program.aspx
If you have questions about IRB compliance, please talk to your faculty sponsor.
You must obtain IRB approval before distributing any surveys for research purposes.
