Procurement and Acquisitions Management at Webster University Library

Government Resources

A research project relating to security management may require research beyond business articles and books. Government documents, regulations and statutes and other legal materials may enhance your research.

GAO Reports

The U.S. Government Accountability Office provides "fact-based, nonpartisan information to Congress. Often called the 'congressional watchdog' GAO investigates federal spending and performance." Federal spending often relates to government security including transportation, Homeland Security, and other disaster prevention and relief agencies.

These reports may be searched within the Business Source Complete database.

  • Type GAO Reports in a search box and change the index on the right to SO Publication Name.
  • Then, enter your search term(s) on another line. In the example below we searched national security

In many cases, a research project relating to procurement and acquisition will require research beyond books and articles into government documents, regulations/laws, and business profiles.  To find these resources, check out the information below and the Websites tab in the navigation menu.

The following videos show how to research the most often requested types of legal information.

Please note that these videos list Kathy Gaynor as the liaison to Law/Legal Studies. Kathy is no longer employed at the library. For help, on the left navigation menu please use the library's Ask A Librarian service or contact one of the subject librarians.
