Things to consider when publishing OA

  1. What are your intentions for the use of your work? Would rights would you like to retain? In what ways will you be able to disseminate your work?
  2. What rights will the publisher require concerning your work? What changes can they make to your work, and how will the publish it?
  3. Are there additional rights that the publisher is requesting? Do you completely understand these terms? Are they necessary and beneficial to you?
  4. In order to reflect your wishes in addition to those of the publisher, should you include an addendum in your agreement?
