Biography (Gale in Context)
A comprehensive biographical reference database that provides more than 300,000 narrative biographies on noteworthy individuals from around the world, throughout history and across all disciplines and subject areas. Information is drawn from nearly 80 Gale biographical sources such as Contemporary Authors, Dictionary of American Biography, Scribner's Encyclopedia of American Lives, Encyclopedia of World Biography, as well as full-text magazine and newspaper articles.

APA PsycInfo (EBSCO)
A database consisting of over 4 million abstract records of peer-reviewed literature in psychology, counseling and related fields, 1897- present.
Communication & Mass Media Complete (EBSCO)
Includes the content from two established indexes, CommSearch and Mass Media Articles Index, as well as other major journals in these disciplines. The full-text for over 200 titles is provided.
ERIC - Education Resources Information Center (EBSCO)
Extensive coverage of education, schools and training from the Educational Resource Information Center.
SocINDEX with Full Text (EBSCO)
Replaces Sociological Abstracts as the premier database in the area of sociology. It covers the content from Sociological Abstracts and provides additional full-text of books, conference papers, and articles, as well as back files which in some cases extend back to 1895.

Global Issues (Gale in Context)
Gale in Context: Global Issues offers international viewpoints on a broad spectrum of global issues, topics, and current events. Featured are hundreds of continuously updated issue and country portals that bring together a variety of specially selected, relevant sources for analysis of these issues. Rich multimedia - including podcasts, video, and interactive graphs - enhance each portal.

Full-text coverage from 1980 to present.

New York Times Historical Newspapers (ProQuest)
Offers full-page-images and article images from the New York Times from its first issue in 1851 to three years ago. An excellent source for finding old advertisements.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch (ProQuest)
Indexing coverage from 1989 to present; full-text from Dec. 4, 1996 to present.

News (Gale OneFile)
InfoTrac Newsstand provides access to full-text newspapers and allows users to search articles instantly by title, headline, date, newspaper section, or other fields. The database offers a one-stop source for current news and searchable archives.

Why not just use Google Scholar?

Google Scholar can be a useful source for finding journal articles, but there are advantages found in the article databases offered through the Webster U. Library, including:

access to more full text
integration with other library services (e.g. chat, delivery services, etc.).
