Submission guidelines

As the graduate student journal of the International Relations Program at Webster University, the Webster International Relations Review: The Graduate Student Working Paper Series (WIRR) publishes the best research papers from Master of Arts and Global Master of Arts students.

International Relations instructors nominate papers of no more than 12,000 words for publication consideration; nominated papers are then subject to a competitive blind review process.

Nominated papers must not have been previously published, be pending review elsewhere, or be submitted for review elsewhere pending the completion of WIRR’s editorial decision process.

To be considered for publication, papers must conform to International Studies Association citation style. Papers that do not adhere to ISA citation style will not be considered for publication unless and until they do so. In-text citations must have author, date, and page number(s) (if relevant).

Each submission must, in addition to the paper to be reviewed, contain a brief author biography, contact details (including email address), and paper abstract.

The Editorial Board commits itself to reaching publication decisions within a reasonable time.
