Donating to the Webster University Archives |
Monetary donations
Your donations help us extend our budget and allow us to purchase preservation-quality storage materials, upgrade our computer hardware, and contract with vendors for services such as digitizing print and media. To make a monetary donation, please go to the Library's Make a Gift page. On the page that appears, follow these steps to designate the Archives as the recipient:
- Under "Donation Comments" please type the word "Archives" into the box.
Donating materials
Donations from alumni and the general public play an important role in helping us
document the history of Webster University. If you have materials that you would be
interested in donating to the Webster University Archives, please contact Jonathan
Majors at 314-246-7818 (toll free: 1-800-985-4279) or at jonathanmajors64@webster.edu. A brief description of the types of items we generally accept is available. Please note that due to space and staffing limitations, some restrictions do apply.
All donated materials become the property of the Webster University Archives.
The Society of American Archivists has a brochure called Donating Your Personal or Family Records to a Repository which you may find helpful. Donors typically sign a deed of gift which is explained in another SAA brochure, A Guide to Deeds of Gift.
Webster University faculty and staff should see our Transferring Materials to the Webster University Archives page for information on handling items found in university offices and departments.
