Eileen Condon, Dean of University Libraries |
Eileen M. Condon is Dean of the University Libraries and Editor of the Webster University
Press (library.webster.edu/wup). She has been with the University since 1992. She received her Master of Library
Science from the University of Missouri and her Bachelor of Arts in English from Truman
State University, where she graduated Summa cum laude.
She will steer the library’s strategic direction in support of the University strategic plan, Global Impact for the Next Century, and oversee all areas of library operation, including development, provision, and management of resources, collections and services.
“Eileen provided excellent leadership during her time as acting dean, and we welcome her to leadership as the Dean of University Libraries,” said Webster University President Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble. “The library plays a critical role as a hub of knowledge development and sharing while providing direct support for faculty, staff, and students worldwide. Eileen’s ability to connect the Webster community with the latest academic tools inside and outside the library system and to lead staff who support them, is essential to this position and to implementing Webster's strategic plan." (Webster Today, Dec 5, 2017)
“Eileen has been a valued leader in our community since arriving at Webster in 1992,” said Julian Schuster, provost, senior vice president and chief operating officer. “Her in-depth understanding of the Webster network and its student and faculty complement her expertise in library sciences to make her a great fit for this position.” (Webster Today, Dec 5, 2017)
