The Eden-Webster Library System (the Emerson Library at Webster University and the Luhr Library at Eden Theological Seminary) owns numerous media materials including videos, DVDs, laser disks, music LPs and CDs, instructional cd-roms, spoken CDs and audiocassettes, and online/Internet resources. This section will focus on two of the most frequently used categories, videos (including DVDs and laser disks) and music (LPs and CDs).
To quickly locate videos and DVDs available from the libraries, click on "Videos/DVDs" on the library's home page or go directly to http://library.webster.edu/collections/videosearchexpress.html. You may limit your search to these heavily used media items without having to wade through listings for books, journals, Web sites, etc. on the same subject. You may search by keyword to find videos on a topic or a specific program title, by genre (e.g. documentary films, silent films), and by language.
Videos, DVDs, and other media materials can also be searched by clicking the library catalog link on the library's home page. In this tutorial, you will learn how to do the following searches in the library catalog:
The last section will provide information on borrowing media materials from the library.
Ready? Let's learn about searching by title for videos and recorded music.
