Wireless in the Library FAQ
Where can I access the wireless network in the library?
Both floors of the Cafe, and the Faculty Development Center.
I've gotten a wireless signal in other areas of the library. Is it ok to use wireless in these other areas?
The wireless network in the library was only configured to work in the Cafe and FDC. While you may pick up a signal in other areas of the library, there's no guarantee that it will be reliable or stable.
What do I need to access the wireless network?
You will need the following: 1) Computer with Windows XP Professional Edition or Macintosh OS 10.3 or higher 2) Wireless adapter that supports b/g standard 3) Webster Connections ID.
Can I check out a wireless card at the Circulation Desk?
No, the library does not have wireless cards to check out.
Can I print to the library's print stations while I am on the wireless network?
You will not be able to print to the library print stations while on the wireless network. If you need to print a document, please save the file to a floppy disk, flash drive, zip drive, or CD and take it to one of our computers located in eCommons, the Cafe, or the Lower Level. You may also email the file to your own web-accessible email address and access the file from one of our computers. Once you have the file transferred to one of our machines you may print for a small fee. [See Print Guide]
I'm having trouble connecting. Help!
