Printing Guide

General How-To

All computers with the exception of 'catalog only' computers have network access to black and white printers only. You must have a copy card with funds stored on it to print successfuly [Go to Copy Card Guide...]. Print jobs may be sent to print stations in the CyberCafe or the eCommons. The file you are printing will be displayed with the name of the computer you were using (left column) and by the time the file was received (right column).

Printing costs $0.10 per 8.5" x 11" page and $0.20 per legal size page.

• Color Printing: You may go to Mail and Copy Solutions for color printing (you must save your data to a floppy diskette or a CD). Mail and Copy Solutions is located at the lower level in Loretto Hall and printing costs start at $0.55 per page.
  
  
• Color Scanning (Use for books unable to be checked out): If you would like to make a color copy of an item that cannot be checked out from the library, use the scanner in the Listening/Viewing Area (Room 122A), save to a disk, and take the disk to Mail and Copy Solutions.

Step-by-Step Guide to Printing (Example using Microsoft Word)

1. Choose "File" from the Toolbar and select "Print...".

   
   
   

2. Select the desired printer. Then click "OK" and your print job will be sent to the print queue.

   • A = CyberCafe Printer (Located on 2nd floor of cafe near the stairs)
   • B = eCommons Printer (Located behind the wood panel separating the eCommons from the Copy/Print Area)
   • C = Convert to Adobe PDF Document (Does not automatically print)
   
   
   

3. Now you must go to the print station you selected and use your copy card to finish printing.
