New Databases @ Your Library Posted 08-20-2009
To support teaching and learning at Webster, the library is pleased to announce the addition of 25 new subscription databases. In addition, our NetLibrary collection of full-text eBooks is growing; we've added over 700 new titles in all subject areas. These new resources result from savings realized by reviewing databases, print journals and print reference book standing orders.

Change in Library Conference Room Reservation Procedure Posted 08-18-2009
Beginning on Aug. 17th, reservations for the Library Conference Room (LCR) will be handled through the library. Since the library opened in 2003, the University Center has graciously handled all reservations for the LCR.
Faculty, staff, and students may use the form at the following URL to reserve the conference room and specify set-up requirements: Library Conference room reservation form
More information about reserving rooms in the library, may be found on our "Reserve a room" page which is found on the Quicklinks and on the footer of each page.
Free Printing in the Library Posted 08-13-2009
A library satisfaction survey in 2007 revealed that students were dissatisfied with the pay-printing service in the library. We took this to heart and worked with Academic Affairs and the Finance Office to subsidize student printing in 2008 and 2009 while we completed our copying contract. We are pleased to announce that we are now offering full free printing in the library for the University community, which is consistent with printing in the labs.
Highlights of the program
- Full free printing in the library for the University community.
- Members of the general public will continue to pay for printing.
- Copy machines will still be on a pay system.
To encourage "green" practices
- We have set the printing to default to duplex.
- We have installed a print release server (so users will only print what they pick up).
- We will monitor usage this year to ensure that we can sustain free printing in a cost-effective way.
