Video Resources
Emerson Library owns a large collection of videocassettes, DVDs, and laserdiscs which is shelved on the first floor of Emerson Library.
Use Video Search Express to search the Library Catalog for videos, DVDs, laserdiscs, and films in the
Eden-Webster Library System. Learn about more advanced search options by viewing our brief tutorial, Finding videos and other media materials in the Library Catalog.
Check the New Titles list to see media items added to the collection each month.
Emerson Library offers listening/viewing facilities in the media area on the first floor of the library. There are 3 group listening/viewing rooms that accomodate 3 to 4 people and several individual listening/viewing carrels.
Guidelines for use of viewing/listening facilities:
- Items from the library's collection as well as those on reserve or produced for courses may be viewed in these rooms.
- Room 124 and the AV carrels are available for use on a first come/first served basis. Current Eden and Webster students, faculty, and staff may reserve the use of Rooms 125 and 127 by either calling the Emerson Circulation Desk (314) 968-6952 or using our online Group Study Reservations Form
- Students needing to view /listen to items on Course Reserve have priority over use for recreational purposes.
- Eden and Webster students, faculty, and staff have priority over library visitors.
- Public users, after presenting a valid photo ID card to Emerson Library staff at the circulation desk on the first floor of Emerson Library, may enjoy the privilege of using the listening/viewing rooms only to view items from the library's collections.
Current Webster and Eden students, faculty, and staff may borrow up to four videos, four DVDs, and four laserdiscs for 3 days at a time.
We encourage all current Webster faculty teaching in the U.S. to place reservations for the DVDs and videotapes they wish to use in class. More detailed information about this service is available on the DVD and Videotape Reservations page.
Videos, DVDs, laserdiscs and films are not available for interlibrary loan or for loan to individuals other than Webster and Eden students, faculty, and staff.
For more information on borrowing videos, check with the
Audiovisual Services at the Eden-Webster Library System page.
