1930s

  • 1931: Webster initiated an international student program, bringing students from many different countries to campus. From 1930 to 1950, nearly 200 faculty members and students went abroad or came to Webster, primarily from Asia, Europe, and South America.
  • 1931: Dr. George F. Donovan became President of Webster College.
  • 1932: Sr. Mary Joseph, S.L., founded the Gallery of Living Catholic Authors to promote Catholic literature among Webster students.
