Des Lee Visiting Scholars

This visiting scholars program was made possible by a gift from St. Louis philanthropist E. Desmond "Des" Lee. From 2001-2011, scholars from around the world came to the home campus of Webster University to teach and interact with the Webster community. Below is a list of the Des Lee Visiting Scholars:

 

  • 2001-2002: Carla Rinaldi, Professor, University of Modena and Reggio, Italy
  • 2002-2003: Aurel Schubert, director of statistics for the Austrian National Bank and adjunct professor at Webster Vienna
  • 2003-2004: Wolf Gruner, leading German historian of the Holocaust
  • 2004-2005: Leonard Suransky, head of the international relations program, Webster Leiden
  • 2005-2006: James M. Bradburne, Director, Next Generation Foundation
  • 2006-2007: Fernando Barrio. Adjunct professor at Webster London and a professor with London Metropolitan University
  • 2007-2008: Satish Kumar, editor of Resurgence magazine
  • 2008-2009: Rashida Manjoo, human rights activist, South Africa
  • 2010: Marcio Dionisio de Souza, CEO and Co-founder of MDL Brasil
  • 2011: Janaki Rajan, professor in Education at Jamia Milia Islamia University in New Delhi, India
